URBAN CONSTELLATIONS

The recent series Urban Constellations and the Prototypes—including Clouds, Portuguese Windows, and Matriz—demonstrate his commitment to reimagining the visual fabric of the city. Rather than documenting reality, it overlays planes and viewpoints to reveal the hidden layers of everyday urban life. In doing so, Luís transforms the apparent scarcity of urban experience into a sensorial and symbolic richness, inviting viewers to reconsider the very nature of space and coexistence.

Currently, he continues to expand his artistic universe through experimentation with new materials and techniques. He introduces coloured acrylics as physical filters over black-and-white photographs, producing chromatic effects that heighten compositional elements. He also explores colour printing on negative photographic paper, playing with depth and layering to enrich visual interpretation. These new approaches bring a tactile and sensorial dimension to Luís's work, deepening his ongoing pursuit of new ways to see and feel the space.
